A few more pictures.......

In these pictures you can see that her right eye turns in. Hopefully we will be able to get that surgically corrected.

This next one seems sad to me. Look at that pout! This one had to be censored because it was a bit x rated. :)

I'm not sure what the age is on these pictures. She sure is chunky!!! My back is going to kill me. We will definitely be buying an Ergo.

WE HAVE A REFERRAL!!!!!

We are officially going to China!!!!!!!!!
I am in shock!!!!!
I am so excited that I can hardly stand it!!!!!

In Sept. 2005 we started the process to adopt a little girl from China. We proceeded with the non special needs program for an infant up to one year. At that time I was just 30 and had two young kids in the house. I didn't understand the special needs program and was a little scared of it.

The wait to bring home our daughter kept increasing. We kept thinking just two more years. Almost four years passed with no end in sight. In October we decided to try the special needs program. Jon and I felt we better understood what it was all about watching several friends coming home with SN children. We researched a few of the needs and turned in our checklist. We were told the wait could still be 1 or more years.

Imagine my surprise when we received a referral on Jan. 6th. My stomach dropped and I instanly fell in love with this sweet girl. What a blessing from the Lord. I am amazed at how things have transpired. Clearly, His fingerprints have been imprinted on this whole process.

Today we received pre-approval which means I can finally post her picture.

Introducing Lily XiaoYun Grabowski

She was born 12-26-2008 (at least that is what they think). She has albinism, which means she lacks pigmentation in the skin, hair, and eyes. She will need to be very careful in the sun and wear sunglasses. She will also have severe vision issues. Most likely she will be legally blind and never drive. This does not mean she will never be able to read. Most are able to read with vision aids. For more info on albinism check out this site.

Hopefully we will travel in April. The latest would probably be in June. With Chinese New Year coming we just aren't sure of the time frame.

A couple more shirts

I am really enjoying sewing. I made a few more shirts. The first is my absolute favorite so far.
I was afraid that the pattern would be too repetitive, but the twist on the front breaks it up nicely. I love the feel of the fabric too.

I absolutely love the back. I wrapped my hair up so you could see the fun tie. The back is two separate pieces. I'm not sure why. I may make it one piece next time and eliminate the back seem. Did I already say that I love the tie in the back?

I would so rather shop for fabric and patterns then clothes. Why is that? I'm just not sure. I like being able to find a certain style with the kind of fabric that I like. I made this one just because I felt like sewing. It was pretty easy to put together.

It is a wrap top and gathers at the side. I added an inch in the length because I thought it might be a bit short. I'm glad I did. I'm not so sure about the sleeves. They are kind of open. The sleeves were supposed to be longer and a bit flouncy. I didn't think that was my style and opted for these instead. I just wish they were a bit tighter.

Every boy needs a mohawk at least once!
